Since 1984
Welcome to W&T Mushrooms Ltd. We are a family-run farm founded by Witold Jaroszewski in 1984.
Witold purchased the property with a dilapidated mushroom farm containing only two small growing rooms. The operation has since grown to six 2,000-square-foot rooms producing roughly 10,000 pounds per week.
To produce a quality product that meets our high expectations, a Dutch growing system was imported and installed to automate the filling and emptying process. It also controls each room’s temperature and humidity individually through a computerized system.
Our farm has grown oyster, shiitake, king oyster, maitake, enoki and reishi mushrooms. Today, we focus on commercial cremini and portabello production for Southern Ontario.
Creating a quality product is our passion.
Get to Know
Located just outside Rockwood on a dead-end road, our farm includes six 2,000-square-foot grow rooms, a picking corridor, filling corridor, cooler, storage and offices.
Technology and custom-built machinery are only half the story. Mushrooms still require skilled human care throughout the day. They are mostly water and require approximately 45,000 litres each week, while growing-room conditions must remain closely controlled for an optimal crop.
